GE HealthCare is seeking a customer-embedded Solutions Architect to partner with strategic customers and internal teams to discover, shape, and validate technical solutions that address critical operational and clinical challenges.
This role sits between Product, UX, and Engineering, operating upstream in the solution lifecycle. The Solutions Architect is expected to be hands-on enough to make ideas concrete and testable, while partnering closely with product and engineering teams that own long-term software delivery and platform execution.
Success in this role is measured by customer impact, solution adoption, architectural quality, and alignment to long-term product strategy.
Job Description
About GE HealthCare
At GE HealthCare, we are harnessing the power of technology to make healthcare more precise, personalized, and accessible for everyone. As part of the Science and Technology Organization, we build platforms and services that enable the next generation of healthcare applications-supporting clinicians, administrators, and developers across the healthcare ecosystem.
What You'll Do
Customer-Embedded Solution Discovery
Embed with strategic customers-including clinicians, administrators, and technical stakeholders-to deeply understand workflows, constraints, and unmet needs.
Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex healthcare challenges into well-designed, scalable solution approaches.
Build credibility and trust through hands-on collaboration, clear communication, and strong architectural judgment.
Solution Design & Early Validation
Design end-to-end solution architectures spanning integrations, data flows, platform capabilities, and user experience considerations.
Create architectural artifacts such as solution blueprints, reference architectures, and technical design documentation.
Make early solution concepts tangible through hands-on solution exploration, enabling validation with customers and internal stakeholders.
Partner closely with UX and engineering teams to evaluate feasibility, trade-offs, and design implications before committing to full delivery.
Translate Customer Needs into Scalable Product Capabilities
Partner with product management to shape requirements and roadmap priorities informed by real customer needs.
Guide engineering teams on architectural intent and implementation direction, without assuming ownership of production services.
Ensure smooth transition from customer-specific solution exploration to durable, reusable product capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with UX designers to ensure user experiences are grounded in real customer workflows and validated early.
Partner with sales, operations, and delivery teams to support successful solution adoption and deployment.
Influence across teams to align customer value, technical feasibility, and business outcomes.
Solution Leadership & Organizational Impact
Lead solution efforts from discovery through deployment, serving as the architectural owner during early and mid-stage solution definition.
Provide structured feedback to improve platform capabilities based on customer insights and market trends.
Contribute to architectural best practices and help elevate solution design standards across the organization.
Who You Are
A seasoned Solutions Architect or Technical Architect with a strong foundation in modern software systems and cloud-based architectures.
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes.
Customer-obsessed, with a passion for improving user experience and delivering measurable impact.
Highly effective at communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Motivated by solving real-world healthcare problems at scale.
Experienced working directly with customers and cross-functional internal teams.
Willing to travel and work on-site with strategic customers as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, or Technical Consulting role.
Proven experience designing distributed systems, integrations, and platform-based solutions.
Strong ability to translate customer workflows and business requirements into scalable solution architectures.
Demonstrated success influencing engineering teams without direct ownership of implementation.
Experience presenting solution architectures and technical recommendations to senior technical and business stakeholders.
Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers as needed.
Desired Characteristics
Technical & Architectural Expertise
Deep understanding of modern application architectures, APIs, data platforms, and cloud services.
Strong architectural judgment, including the ability to evaluate trade-offs and make informed build-vs-buy recommendations.
Familiarity with UX principles and their impact on adoption and usability in enterprise and healthcare contexts.
Experience using modern prototyping or AI-assisted development tools to support solution discovery and customer validation (e.g., UI-focused or full-stack prototyping environments), with accountability focused on shaping and validating solutions rather than owning long-term engineering delivery.
Experience working within Agile product organizations and contributing to continuous improvement.
Business & Customer Acumen
Ability to align emerging technologies with customer needs and long-term product strategy.
Skilled at balancing competing stakeholder priorities while maintaining architectural integrity.
Comfortable operating at the intersection of customer value, technical feasibility, and business outcomes.
