Contribute to The Hartford's AI innovation strategy by identifying and implementing advanced use cases that align with business objectives and emerging trends. Help define a cutting-edge AI vision and roadmap to position The Hartford as a leader in AI applications within the insurance industry. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Data Science, Technology, and business sectors to enhance productivity and efficiency in underwriting and sales. Design and develop Generative AI solutions for tasks including summarization, question answering, search, and data synthesis. Utilize AI techniques on low frequency, high severity exposures in Specialty Insurance. Rapidly prototype with modern tools such as Vertex AI/Google agent development kit, LangChain/LangGraph, RAG frameworks, HuggingFace, OpenAI APIs, and more. Research and recommend innovative model options, tools, and libraries to boost performance and reliability of AI solutions. Establish evaluation pipelines for generative outputs using automated metrics, human feedback, and advanced assessment methods. Work with ML Ops to ensure adherence to best practices for scalable AI model training and deployment. Qualifications:
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in machine learning or data science, with at least 1 year focused on Generative AI. Proven experience in developing and deploying agentic AI systems. Expertise in Generative AI tools such as Vertex AI/Google agent development kit, LangChain/LangGraph, RAG frameworks, HuggingFace, OpenAI APIs, and others. Strong grasp of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent workflows, and LLM evaluation techniques. Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. Familiarity with vector databases such as Chroma, Pinecone, and cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a knack for making complex technical concepts accessible to non-technical stakeholders. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position. Compensation The annual base pay range for this role is: $90,160 - $135,240, which is based on market analysis of similar positions. Actual pay may vary based on factors including performance and demonstration of competencies. The base pay is just one part of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which may also include bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition awards.
