Rate:
$60.00 to $70.00/hr. W2 Responsibilities: Deploy applications seamlessly across development, staging, and production environments. Construct reusable CI/CD pipeline templates, enhancing cross-team consistency. Collaborate with developers to containerize and deploy applications utilizing ECS and Lambda. Configure GitLab Runners and secure environment-specific variables and secrets. Establish readiness and liveness probes for containers in EKS and ECS. Create custom scripts for CloudWatch custom metrics and alarms derived from application probes. Oversee deployments and system health monitoring utilizing CloudWatch and related tools. Implement rollback strategies and manage versioning throughout the deployment process. Troubleshoot deployment challenges, focusing on improving performance and reliability. Utilize programming languages such as Python, Bash, YAML/JSON, Node.js, and Lambda functions for automation tasks. Conduct daily health assessments through AWS CLI or scheduled Lambda scripts, reporting on results. Establish monitoring thresholds, dashboards, and metrics for applications and infrastructure. Perform root cause analysis and incident correlation using monitoring and performance tools. Keep an organized inventory of licensed software within AWS environments. Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure and operational processes. Evaluate and apply patches for infrastructure and third-party software. Develop patch testing schedules and rollout plans incorporating rollback and recovery strategies. Create and manage change records; participate actively in PI planning and Agile ceremonies. Ensure cloud environments adhere to security standards and best practices. Coordinate failover and recovery for ECS/EKS services, Lambda functions, and databases. Test and document regional failover and recovery procedures. Ensure compliance with RTO and RPO requirements. Engage in on-call rotations to support 24/7 production systems and attend to incidents. Experience Requirements: 8+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years focused on cloud support, infrastructure maintenance, or IT operations. Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation. Strong proficiency in AWS Lambda for function creation, deployment, and optimization. Practical experience with CI/CD tools and workflows, particularly GitHub or GitLab, EKS, and Kubernetes. Proficient scripting skills for automation with Bash and Python. Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect Associate. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Capability to diagnose performance issues in cloud settings. Preferred: Experience with pre-check and post-check scripts for system health verification. Preferred: Familiarity with container orchestration using Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes. Preferred: Understanding of ITIL practices or incident management frameworks. Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance. Education Requirements: BA/BS in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. AWS certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or AWS Solutions Architect Associate.
