Our team is responsible for developing Elsevier's next-generation Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. We are building and enhancing the authentication and authorization backbone for Elsevier's global products, with a mission to deliver an innovative IAM platform that facilitates advanced authorization and authentication across all Elsevier products. Qualifications: Current experience leading and managing a team of Software Engineering and/or Security Engineering professionals.
Proficient in Java/J2EE, JavaScript/Typescript, and related technologies.
Familiar with various software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management. Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.
Demonstrated success as a people leader.
Understanding of the SaaS development life cycle process.
Experience with at least one major IAM platform (KeyCloak, Auth0, Okta, or similar); KeyCloak and Auth0 expertise are strong advantages.
Accountabilities: Manage, mentor, and support a small team of engineers, promoting a culture of security, innovation, and technical excellence.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements and strategic direction for the platform, including healthcare and life sciences use cases.
Write and review code, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to security and engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert guidance on IAM, security, and healthcare protocol topics.
Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving security threats in the IAM and healthcare space.
Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable IAM solutions, focusing on OAuth2/OIDC and healthcare protocols like SMART on FHIR and EHR integrations.
