We are hiring a diligent Shipping Clerk for our Portland, Oregon warehouse. This position is key to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time, supporting our overall logistics network. The Shipping Clerk will manage the preparation of shipments, including accurate documentation, proper packaging, and coordinating with carriers. You will be responsible for maintaining shipping supplies, tracking shipments, and resolving any issues that arise during the shipping process. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Physical stamina is important, as the role involves lifting and moving packages regularly. Safety is our top priority, and all employees must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickups and drop-offs.
- Inspect packages for damage or discrepancies before shipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments.
- Keep shipping supplies well-stocked and organized.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Resolve shipping-related issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate shipment status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Perform tasks involving lifting and moving packages as part of the shipping process, following safe lifting techniques.
