Provides assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks; analyzes design, specifications, and related documents; implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a software engineering environment; analyzes network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoots problems and recommends procurement of and/or modifications to network components. Perform network engineering tasks and functions. Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph). Capabilities
Install, configure, and maintain network and sensor hardware. Develop, plan, and implement network and sensor hardware solutions, layouts, and upgrades. Implement and manage network security measures. Resolve network and sensor hardware issues. Ability to climb ladders to install and troubleshoot sensor devices. Monitor network health, analyze traffic patterns, and improve visibility through metrics and alerting. Create and maintain network documentation, policies, and procedures. Required Qualifications
TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph Minimum of 3 years as a network engineer (within the last 3 years). Network architecture knowledge and experience. Network switch administration. Experience with patching and upgrading network devices and applications. Network application troubleshooting skills. Hardware installation and cabling experience. Proficient with Linux and Windows. Linux and/or Windows system administration experience is a plus. CCNA or CCNP certification. Security+ certification. Desired Technical Skills
VMware architecture administration experience. Application administration and troubleshooting skills. Experience with monitoring tools. AWS/VM experience. The Benefits Package
