Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and academic readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the education team to help remove barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviours among students.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities during golden time.
- Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and emotional needs.
- Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
- Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
- Advocating for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, reviewing student progress.
- Developing the Pupil Voice and liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council.
- Building relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga).
- Experience in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
