Position: Network Engineer Location: Port Huron, MI Duration: 12 Month Contract
Job Description: Cisco APIC/ACI, Spine Leaf architecture, SD WAN, routing and switching (L2/L3), BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, firewalls, wireless access points, WAN technologies, network troubleshooting, enterprise network administration. Strong network troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis for connectivity and performance issues - Experience monitoring network performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools, Working knowledge of network security concepts, firewall policies, and access control, Ability to create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures, Experience working in onsite enterprise and data center environments with minimal supervision, Experience supporting 24×7 production environments, Exposure to change management and ITSM processes, Comfortable participating in on-call or after-hours support. Technical Certifications Preferred: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Cisco ACI Certification, SD-WAN Certification, Azure Networking, Cisco Meraki
Roles & Responsibilities Administer, configure, monitor, and support enterprise and data center network infrastructure in a production environment Provide hands-on operational support for Cisco APIC / ACI environments, including day-to-day administration and troubleshooting Manage and support Spine-Leaf network architecture, ensuring high availability and performance Configure, administer, and troubleshoot SD-WAN solutions, including policy management, routing, traffic steering, and failover Install, configure, and maintain: Core, Edge, and Access switches Enterprise routers Firewalls Wireless Access Points and controllers Administer and support WAN acceleration technologies and optimize WAN performance Perform network provisioning, configuration changes, upgrades, and patching while following change management procedures Proactively monitor network health, performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and data center environments, performing root-cause analysis Ensure network security and compliance by implementing best practices and approved standards Collaborate with server, storage, security, and application teams during projects, deployments, and incident resolution Support network-related incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Participate in on-call and after-hours support as required to support business operations Assist with network audits, vulnerability remediation, and continuous improvement initiatives Provide technical guidance and recommendations for network optimization and reliability improvements
