Your RoleAs a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the education team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviours among young people.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities.
- Assisting in lessons to address academic, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
- Creating and compiling information related to lessons and interventions.
- Preparing relevant information for meetings about pupils.
- Being an advocate for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
- Developing the Pupil Voice initiative and liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council.
- Building relationships with parents/carers and actively participating in transitions and consultations.
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.
- Proficiency in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community.
