We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Engineering Manager to guide a talented team of engineers (frontend, full-stack, QA) while engaging actively in technical development. This role combines technical skills and leadership experience, requiring 20-30% of your time dedicated to hands-on coding and strategic team management. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a skilled engineering team across various specialties. Recruit, onboard, and nurture high-performing talent. Conduct 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and help shape career development. Manage team workload, sprint planning, and resource management. Create a collaborative and innovative environment that emphasizes engineering excellence. Hands-On Technical Contribution: Actively engage in coding critical features. Guide the team through code reviews and provide technical mentorship. Design scalable frontend and full-stack solutions. Troubleshoot complex issues and prototype innovative technologies. Lead technical decision-making and create proof-of-concepts. Engineering Operations: Streamline the Software Development Life Cycle for enhanced speed and quality. Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines. Establish crucial engineering metrics such as velocity and deployment frequency. Oversee incident responses and conduct post-mortems. Promote best practices in testing, deployment, and monitoring. Technical Strategy: Define the technical roadmap and architecture for projects. Make informed decisions regarding the technology stack. Manage technical debt while ensuring timely feature delivery. Oversee scalability, performance, and reliability efforts. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Analytics teams to align strategies. Distributed Team Management: Lead and manage teams dispersed across multiple time zones. Establish effective communication strategies for remote and hybrid teams. Foster an inclusive and supportive team culture. Required Qualifications Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years managing engineering teams effectively. Proven success in talent acquisition, development, and retention. Experience in delivering complex, collaborative projects. Technical Experience: At least 8 years as an individual contributor in frontend/full-stack development. Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript. Proficient with modern frontend frameworks, including: Svelte/SvelteKit (required or willingness to learn) React/Next.js (required) Full-stack development experience with: Backend technologies like Node.js or C#. RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL. Database design using SQL and NoSQL. E-Commerce & PWA: Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC): SFCC architecture and APIs (SCAPI, OCAPI). SFCC PWA Kit or headless commerce. Business Manager configuration (preferred). Expertise in Progressive Web Applications: Service Workers and offline functionality. Core Web Vitals optimization. Mobile-first development approaches. Performance optimization practices. DevOps & Cloud: CI/CD tools experience (like GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform, CloudFormation). Monitoring tools like Grafana. Other Requirements Deep knowledge of software architecture and design principles. Test automation experience (TDD, unit, integration, e2e). Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience implementing analytics (GA4, Amplitude, etc.). Understanding of performance optimization and security best practices. Experience in managing distributed teams. Preferred Qualifications Salesforce Commerce Cloud certifications. Knowledge of headless/composable commerce architecture. Background with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Adobe Commerce). Experience with micro-frontends or microservices. Familiarity with edge computing solutions (Fastly, Cloudflare). Skills in mobile development. Understanding of design systems and component libraries. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG). Experience with PCI compliance and e-commerce security.
