About Us

At Orange Grove , we believe that strong relationships are the foundation of successful fostering. Founded in 1996 by two dedicated social workers, our mission has always been to nurture connections—whether it’s with the children in our care, our foster parents, or local authorities. We invest time and resources into building these relationships, ensuring a safe and positive family environment for everyone involved.

The Role

We are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this position, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with foster parents to provide meaningful supervision of placements.
  • Utilize your experience in working with foster parents as professional colleagues.
  • Travel across the North West, so a full driving licence and confident driving skills are essential.
  • Engage in quality assurance and training for both prospective and current foster parents.
  • Write excellent reports and meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
  • Hold a Social Work England qualification or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in fostering is a must.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and participate in an Out of Hours rota.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in meetings and decision-making.

Join us at Orange Grove Fostercare, where we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.

Are you ready to make a difference? We can’t wait to hear from you!
