We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. The Shipping Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of outgoing shipments. This position involves coordinating with various departments, preparing shipping documents, and maintaining accurate records of all outgoing goods. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for verifying order accuracy, selecting appropriate packaging materials, and ensuring that all shipments meet company and carrier standards. A commitment to safety and proper handling procedures is paramount. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external partners. Attention to detail is critical to prevent errors and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Verify and reconcile shipping orders with outgoing merchandise.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with carriers and trucking companies to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and addressed for shipment.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and records of all outgoing items.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to management promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Must be comfortable with moderate Lifting requirements, typically up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge of Safety protocols within a warehouse setting.
