Our busy logistics center in San Diego, California, is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the final stages of order fulfillment, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched. Your attention to detail will be key to maintaining the integrity of our logistics process and ensuring timely delivery to our customers. Responsibilities include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment details, and maintaining accurate shipping records. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure all orders are processed correctly and on schedule. Safety is paramount, and all required PPE will be provided. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy. Experience with shipping software and carrier portals is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and related documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify that all outgoing orders are accurate and match shipping orders.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking numbers and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipping status and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, shipping regulations, and safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Operate shipping software and carrier platforms efficiently.
- Assist with loading trucks as needed, ensuring correct order placement.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier management systems.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all procedures.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
