Our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania logistics facility is seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This involves preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Your attention to detail is paramount to our ability to deliver exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments against customer orders and shipping manifests.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory logs.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company safety policies.
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight management systems).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and handling of materials is essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
