Our Sacramento, California facility is looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team! This role is central to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing significantly to our logistics network. You will be responsible for preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipment records. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Your precision guarantees customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and manifests.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments effectively.
- Ensure that all packages are properly labeled, packed, and secured for transit.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized shipping records for audit and reference purposes.
- Communicate shipment status updates to internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Uphold all company safety standards and policies, including the correct and consistent use of PPE.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse workspace.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the logistics management team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics or administrative role is essential.
- Proficiency with shipping software, order management systems, and general computer applications.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs occasionally.
- Familiarity with import/export documentation is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and understanding of PPE guidelines.
