Residential Childcare Support Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? Leeds LCS is on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team! This is a full-time role, offering 35 hours per week plus sleep-in shifts, with the potential to earn up to £27,983.80 .

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition towards independence. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing practical support and guidance in line with individual care plans.
• Engaging, motivating, and encouraging young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
• Maintaining positive relationships with young people, staff, and professionals through effective communication.
• Supporting young people in Education, Employment, and Training, ensuring their progress is documented.
• Building community links with educational provisions, sports centers, and youth clubs.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Flexibility in your availability for shift work, including sleep-in nights, evenings, and weekends.
• A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma , Children and Young People's Workforce , or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be willing to study towards it).
• Experience working with attachment and trauma, as well as challenging behavior or mental health issues (desirable).
• An understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
• A full driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable, but good public transport links are available).
• Intermediate computer skills.

This role involves working on a rota basis, which may include evenings and weekends. Your flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the young people we support.
