Our mission is to provide each pupil with a diverse and appropriate education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, inspires learning, and encourages aspiration and achievement. We are excited to announce the opening of our new school in Battle, East Sussex, with a full capacity of 60 pupils, set in a stunning country estate.
Your RoleAs a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
- Mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than five pupils.
- Assisting the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
- Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, collaborating with other school staff to meet pupils' needs.
- Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
- Setting work where appropriate and marking assignments.
- Building positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to lead on a specialism (e.g., Reading, Mathematics, Forest School).
- Experience in behavior management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
