The Intelligence Production Solutions Division (IPSD) is seeking a dedicated Lead Systems Administrator. In this pivotal role within our IT operations team, you will manage, secure, and optimize high-performance systems that are crucial to our customers' intelligence and geospatial initiatives. This position calls for significant technical expertise, proactive leadership, and the ability to thrive both independently and in team settings within a dynamic, classified environment. You will oversee system operations, mentor junior administrators, and guarantee the availability, reliability, and security of the infrastructure that supports geospatial analytics, software development, and data services. This role may be performed at one of the following locations, with Gaithersburg, MD being the primary workspace: Gaithersburg, MD Aurora, CO St. Louis, MO Tucson, AZ Clearance Level Required:
Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph. Primary Responsibilities: Lead administration for Linux and Windows systems in secure environments. Design and manage complex server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM). Perform OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching in line with DoD STIGs and agency policies. Monitor system performance, address complex issues, and conduct root cause analyses effectively. Support backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery plans, and continuity operations. Oversee automation scripts and infrastructure as code (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, etc.). Maintain detailed system documentation, configuration baselines, and support configuration management and risk management activities. Lead the deployment of system enhancements and modernization initiatives for the Chinook program. Collaborate with cybersecurity, network engineering, and software development teams to ensure system compliance and performance. Participate in security audits, incident response, and operational readiness efforts. Provide Tier 2/3 help desk support, troubleshooting intricate user problems and resolving escalated tickets with the service desk to minimize downtime. Basic Qualifications: US citizenship is required per contract. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 6-10 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for degree. Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph. DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and hybrid cloud environments. Experience in administration of Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS) and Windows Server platforms. Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and related management tools. Strong skills in automation and scripting (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python). Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, ACAS scans, and Risk Management Framework processes. Solid understanding of enterprise networking, identity/access management, and storage concepts. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, document, and manage systems-related projects autonomously. Experience in supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense classified environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in supporting geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) missions. Familiarity with DevOps tools and pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Docker, etc.). Knowledge of enterprise backup solutions, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and PKI.
