About Our School

Welcome to our vibrant school located in Wigan! We provide a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 16 years old. As part of the Polaris Community , we have dedicated over 30 years to improving the lives of young people.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum, addressing the complex ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Support the class team in creating learning opportunities and fostering positive behaviors.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with other staff to meet individual needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to enhance interaction and learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Possess a suitable degree-level qualification.
  • Have previous successful teaching experience.
  • Bring experience working with pupils with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Be skilled in behavior management techniques.
  • Be committed to your professional development and eager to learn.
  • Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to starting work.
