About Us

At Budwood, we create a stable and nurturing environment for young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. Our mission is to offer high levels of support and guidance, helping them develop essential skills for a successful transition to independence and adulthood.

Your Role

As a Residential Support Worker , you will be an integral part of a collaborative team, providing tailored care packages to our children and young adults. You will receive training in Developmental Trauma and therapeutic parenting, equipping you to offer the best support possible.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support children and young people, understanding the unique challenges they face.
  • Work flexible shifts, including 7 x 24-hour shifts with sleep-ins over a 3-week rotation.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of our young people.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with each individual.
  • Encourage the development of personal interests and skills.
  • Collaborate effectively within a small team, accepting guidance and direction.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Flexibility in availability for shift work.
  • Qualifications: Hold or be willing to work towards a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a car for travel.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder or Youth Work is a plus.
What We Offer
  • A competitive base salary starting at £24,604.58 (unqualified) or £27,107.08 (qualified), with potential earnings up to £32,348.58 or £34,851.08 respectively, including sleep-in shifts.
  • A sleep-in allowance of £64 per night .
  • Up to 6 weeks of holiday per year.
