What They Are Looking For

The company is seeking an experienced Enterprise / Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping the technical direction of a large-scale financial software platform. This position combines strategic architecture leadership with hands-on engineering work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys designing systems while also building and validating them through code.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems, particularly within cloud environments. They will also demonstrate the ability to modernise existing platforms while ensuring stability and reliability in production environments.

Candidates should have deep expertise in .NET / C# development, strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns, and credibility across the full technology stack including TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks. Experience working in financial services or regulated industries would be highly beneficial.

The role requires someone who can guide architectural standards, mentor engineers, and influence technical strategy while collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and guide the architectural direction of a large financial software platform used by multiple financial institutions.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient systems capable of supporting organisations ranging from smaller financial institutions to large enterprise clients.
• Contribute directly to the codebase by building prototypes, reviewing production code, and validating architectural approaches through implementation.
• Establish architectural standards covering API design, service boundaries, data flows, and system integration.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, platform specialists, and product leaders to ensure consistent and scalable technology solutions.
• Support the evolution of existing systems toward modern cloud-native architectures and microservices-based environments.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to senior engineers while encouraging strong architectural thinking across teams.
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI-driven capabilities and intelligent automation within financial workflows.
• Help teams deliver improvements incrementally, avoiding disruptive large-scale rewrites while maintaining operational stability.

Nice to Have

• Strong background in cloud platforms, particularly Azure or other major cloud providers.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and distributed service communication patterns.
• Knowledge of API lifecycle management, versioning strategies, and backward compatibility.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.
