We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our Huntsville, Alabama facility. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our supply chain. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, verifying inventory against documentation, inspecting for damages, and accurately logging all received items into our system. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining order are essential. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our inventory, which is fundamental to our Logistics operations. Ensuring proper handling and storage from the moment goods arrive contributes directly to our overall operational success and customer satisfaction. We prioritize a safe working environment, and adherence to all Safety protocols, including the use of required PPE , is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming trucks efficiently and safely.
- Verify the contents of received shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Inspect all received goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming items as per company standards.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, following all warehouse and Safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and inventory control, to resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, and standing.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Understanding of basic inventory control principles and Logistics processes.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and the correct use of PPE .
