A professional engineer with formal team leader responsibilities who plans and coordinates specialist engineering activities and is charged with managing project revenues over a portfolio of projects. Alternatively provides technical and project management support to colleagues in an area of expertise within the engineering function.
- Manages or provides technical support to multiple projects.
- Acts as technical owner of specific area within Engineering function of AstraZeneca or as deep specialist in one field.
- Either leads the planning, managing, and monitoring of major projects from concepts through implementation, or provides expert technical support to project manager carrying out these functions.
- Identifies, evaluates, recommends and selects technical options to be adopted as global standards.
- Provides technical advice and information to other function members.
- Keeps own knowledge of best practices and new developments up to date.
- Leads trouble shooting activities to resolve existing problems and inform future Engineering developments.
- Assists in initiating, conducting and coordinating resource allocation and financial program evaluation reviews.
- Gathers and analyses data related to establishing and maintaining business processes, procedures and policies.
- Evaluates and monitors performance and efficiency of programs and projects to ensure target are met.
- Assists with preparing budget status reports, forecast reports, reports on adherence to key performance indicators and other management reports.
- Leads project staff in preparing cost applications and budgets for new business development.
- Works on overall project planning by reporting on project schedules and deliverables
- Helps co-ordinate resources within the business teams, project team or across the department.
- Ensure compliance of own work and work of others with Safety, Health and Environment standards
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) on process/system integration
- Determines process control requirements.
- Resolves issues for automation processes.
- Designs systems to process requirements.
- Designs/executes commissioning studies.
- Leads investigations.
- Leads risk analysis.
- Leads cross functional teams, FTEs, and contractors.
- Approves change control.
- Executes tech transfers.
- Conducts presentations for higher management.
- Assists in the creation of budgets.
- Creates integrated project timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Life Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Auditing Experience
- Project management experience
- Regulations (ISPE, GAMP, Annex 1, CFR)
- Data Integrity
- Quality Systems (Change management, investigations, etc.)
- OSI PI
- ASQ CQE (American Society of Quality Certified Quality Engineer)
