*Job Overview*
We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Engineer to join our dynamic IT department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network and telecommunication systems to ensure seamless communication across our organisation.

The ideal applicant will possess extensive knowledge of computer networking, network security, and system administration, with a focus on delivering reliable and scalable telecommunication solutions.
You must have a minimum 2 years experience of Installing and repairing phone systems as well as being knowledgeable of VOIP

*Responsibilities*
* Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and MPLS protocols to optimise connectivity and performance.
* Configure and maintain network devices such as Cisco routers, Cisco ASA firewalls, Juniper devices, and other network hardware.
* Implement and support network security measures including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, encryption protocols (SSL/TLS), PKI, LDAP, SSO, and network access controls.
* Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Splunk, and SolarWinds to ensure high availability and optimal operation.
* Manage remote access solutions via SSH, VPNs, RDP, and other secure protocols; troubleshoot connectivity issues across diverse operating systems including Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Solaris, and macOS.
* Administer network services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, Active Directory, SQL databases, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
* Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Python or Ansible to streamline system administration tasks.
* Oversee virtualisation environments including VMware vSphere and Citrix; ensure high availability through load balancing techniques.
* Maintain documentation of network architecture diagrams and operational procedures in accordance with ITIL standards.
* Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities; implement updates to safeguard against cyber threats using IDS/IPS systems and other security tools.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network installation projects; participate in SDLC processes for system development lifecycle management.
*Skills*
* Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP stack, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF EIGRP), VLANs, Ethernet switching and IP networking fundamentals.
* Proven experience with Cisco ISE for identity services management; Cisco ASA firewalls; Juniper networks; SD-WAN solutions; MPLS networks; SAN storage solutions; load balancing technologies.
* Strong understanding of network security principles including encryption standards (SSL/TLS), VPNs (IPsec), SFTP/FTP/SCP file transfer protocols; network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or PRTG.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation purposes; familiarity with DevOps practices using Ansible or PowerShell scripts.
* Experience managing cloud environments such as Azure or AWS; knowledge of virtualisation platforms like VMware vSphere or Citrix XenServer.
* Ability to configure and troubleshoot operating systems including Windows Server environments as well as Linux distributions like Debian or CentOS.
* Familiarity with network management frameworks such as ITIL; understanding of high availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
* Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong organisational abilities; capable of working independently or within a team under tight deadlines. Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
