Recognising the importance of energy storage, RWE Generation is integrating battery systems into its operations and pioneering hydrogen-powered technologies — an essential element for storing renewable energy for when it is needed most. We are looking for Graduate Electrical Engineers to join us in our October 2026 cohort. You will work at our different assets, both domestically and internationally so a willingness to travel regularly is essential.
Whilst your specific tasks may change depending on your placements, it could include:
- Planning, prioritising, and executing day-to-day electrical maintenance, including proactive routine maintenance of electrical apparatus (e.g., 415V switchgear, motors, electrical actuators).
- Ensuring compliance with maintenance and operational safety policies, procedures, and plant equipment standards within the discipline area.
- Developing and improving Local Maintenance Strategies to align with the overall Asset Strategy, while providing technical support to maintenance technicians.
- Working on the Electrical aspects of our projects to build new assets.
- Managing budgets, control costs, and oversee contracts for daily activities and specific projects.
- Fostering a culture of innovation to drive continuous business performance improvements.
At the end of your programme, you will have developed the skills to go into a role as an Electrical Engineer at one of our assets or in our Essen Head Office.
- Degree educated in Electrical Engineering or similar, preferably at a Masters level.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Business fluent in English and German.
- Willing to travel and relocate, both during your programme and after with our financial support.
- Open to learning new skills and be taken outside of your comfort zone.
Advantageous, but not essential
- Relevant internships or work experience.
- An expected starting salary of £40,403 per annum.
