Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement embedded software and hardware for manufacturing equipment and automation systems. Integrate embedded systems with industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA) and other factory automation infrastructure. Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex embedded system issues on the production floor to minimize downtime. Optimize existing embedded systems for improved performance, reliability, and efficiency in manufacturing processes. Develop and execute test plans for validating embedded system functionality and robustness in industrial environments. Collaborate with production, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to define system requirements and specifications. Ensure embedded systems comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development. Experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and their peripherals. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, EtherCAT, Profinet). Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers). Understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) concepts and application. Ability to read schematics and contribute to hardware-software integration and testing. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, OPC UA). Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, or other industrial automation platforms. Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) for embedded hardware. Experience developing automated production test fixtures for embedded devices. Understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES) or factory-level data integration.
