Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded software/firmware for manufacturing equipment and control systems. Integrate embedded systems with industrial automation platforms (PLCs, SCADA) and factory floor machinery. Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues on production lines to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Develop and implement sensor interfaces and control algorithms for process monitoring, data acquisition, and optimization. Ensure compliance with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA) for seamless data exchange. Collaborate with production, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to define system requirements and deployment strategies. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals for embedded systems. Recommended Qualifications
Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development. Experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and real-time operating systems (RTOS). Demonstrated ability in hardware-software integration, debugging, and testing embedded systems on physical prototypes. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, EtherCAT) and sensor integration. Proficiency in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers (JTAG/SWD). Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, PROFINET, EtherCAT) Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) or SCADA systems Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849) Experience integrating embedded systems with manufacturing test equipment or automation
