What We're Looking For:
Students (Sophomore-Senior) in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
Basic PC or IT security knowledge (experience with computer repairs, installing operating system, computer troubleshooting, knowledge of current or past computer vulnerabilities, vulnerability scanning).
Self-starter with strong drive and curiosity
Willingness to learn (researching/Googling encouraged)
Strong communication - engaged, asks questions, checks in regularly
Team-oriented, collaborative, and proactive
Key Traits: Driven • Curious • Flexible • Not afraid to ask for help • Able to work independently and with others
Details:
100% Remote (must reside in Arizona)
~20 hours/week with flexible hours (not limited to business hours)
Equipment provided (laptop, monitor, camera, keyboard)
This position assists the IT Security team within the Information Technology organization with cyber security activities, analysis and coordination. The IT Security team is a key part of Phoenix Children's program to secure its information assets, services, and the products that depend on them, building trust with customers and stakeholders and protecting the privacy of Phoenix Children's patients and employees.
Position Duties
Participates in security tool implementation, integration, and performance evaluation.
Reviews security tool outputs, alerts, alarms, and reports.
Conducts security log and event analysis.
Analyzes system events, security alerts, network activity, and evaluates detection mechanisms.
Participates in cyber security activities, communication, and coordination across the Enterprise.
Works with the various teams to gather, evaluate, analyze, and report on metrics to ensure performance of security service delivery and identify trends.
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
