Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement embedded software and firmware for manufacturing automation and control systems. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for embedded systems to ensure reliability and performance in production environments. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex hardware and software issues in embedded systems on the manufacturing floor. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded systems into new and existing manufacturing processes. Maintain, update, and optimize existing embedded systems, including firmware upgrades and performance enhancements. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for embedded system designs, code, and testing procedures. Participate in the selection and evaluation of microcontrollers, sensors, and other embedded components for manufacturing applications. Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development, including real-time operating systems (RTOS). Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and peripheral interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN). Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, OPC UA). Proven ability in embedded hardware and firmware debugging, testing, and validation. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and product reliability testing. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET). Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) or lean manufacturing principles. Experience integrating embedded systems with PLC/SCADA systems. Proficiency in developing automated test fixtures or end-of-line testers for production environments.
