We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our Huntsville, Alabama facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse using powered industrial trucks. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring timely handling of goods and maintaining an organized inventory. You will be required to operate machinery with precision and uphold the highest standards of workplace safety . Proper use of PPE is mandatory. This position involves significant physical tasks and regular lifting when not operating machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and organize materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by properly staging and locating materials.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Support the overall efficiency of our warehouse logistics by ensuring materials are readily accessible.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including manual lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, free from hazards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Excellent understanding of safety procedures and ability to enforce them.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
