We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to all shipping regulations. Your duties will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, tracking shipments, and maintaining shipping records. This position is crucial to our supply chain, ensuring that products are dispatched efficiently and reach their destinations without issue. A strong understanding of logistics and warehouse operations is beneficial. We prioritize a safe working environment, mandating the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe lifting practices. If you are organized, proactive, and have a keen eye for detail, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bills of lading and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all shipping regulations and safety protocols.
- Ensure proper use of PPE.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including safe lifting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics procedures.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
