Our Houston, Texas facility is looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within our warehouse. This position is vital for maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring the timely movement of goods. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of forklift operation, excellent spatial awareness, and a commitment to workplace safety. A valid forklift certification is required. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage, and from storage to shipping areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Adhere to all logistics and shipping schedules.
- Responsible for safe lifting and material handling practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations.
