We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our busy distribution center in New York City, New York. This role is crucial for the efficient movement and organization of all materials within our facility, forming a critical link in our Logistics network. You will be responsible for operating various types of warehouse machinery, managing inventory flow, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate has prior experience in material handling, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to safety protocols. Your diligence ensures our products reach their destination efficiently and in excellent condition.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely and proficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring accuracy and proper handling techniques.
- Transport inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Organize and maintain warehouse stock in designated locations, optimizing space utilization.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of material handling equipment, reporting any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification processes to ensure data accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety guidelines and regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handling role, including forklift operation.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, and physical exertion.
- Must be able to handle Lifting of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Good knowledge of warehouse inventory systems and procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to procedures.
