Our Jacksonville, Florida facility is seeking a skilled Material Handler to support our extensive logistics operations. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This critical role ensures that raw materials, components, and finished goods are where they need to be, when they need to be, facilitating smooth production and distribution. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors. Safety is our highest priority, and all employees must rigorously follow safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires physical dexterity, the ability to lift heavy items, and a thorough understanding of safe material handling practices within a logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, production lines, and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Sort, organize, and stack materials according to established procedures.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Follow all instructions from warehouse supervisors and logistics management.
- Contribute to efficient material flow and logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Certification and experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
