Our Kansas City, Missouri facility is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dedicated warehouse team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move materials throughout our distribution center. Your expertise will be vital in managing inventory, supporting inbound and outbound logistics, and ensuring smooth operational flow. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all operators to be vigilant and adhere to strict safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Move inventory to and from designated storage locations.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and order picking processes.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Follow traffic rules within the facility and ensure safe operation.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and logistics.
- Be aware of and adhere to lifting capacity limits of equipment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA-approved).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and equipment operation.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following safety protocols.
