The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center has an immediate opening for a Cybersecurity Manager. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's cybersecurity architecture to ensure continuous protection across the enterprise from perimeter to endpoint. The Cybersecurity Manager provides proactive threat monitoring, identification, remediation, and cybersecurity education, leveraging industry-leading tools and best practices. This position requires strong technical expertise, exceptional customer service, and collaboration with IT leadership, auditors, and organizational stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Manage security platforms including SIEM, XDR, email security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and multi-factor authentication. Lead vulnerability remediation efforts, penetration testing, dark web monitoring, intrusion detection/prevention, and incident response. Develop and maintain IT and cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST standards. Oversee IT General Controls audits and compliance activities, including engagement with the audit committee. Direct cybersecurity education initiatives, including phishing simulations and annual employee training programs. Evaluate hardware/software, manage product upgrades, sandboxing, encryption, and SSL certificate administration. Negotiate vendor contracts, budgets, and oversee licensing. Support enterprise infrastructure services such as firewalls, DNS/DHCP, email systems, device management, virtualization platforms, and cloud identity services. Other duties as assigned Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain trust and confidence across the enterprise. Security certifications such as CISSP or CISM highly desirable. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required and 5-10 years of relevant cybersecurity experience. Submission:
