Your Role and Responsibilities

As a SEND Teacher, you will have the unique opportunity to teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that align with the school's curriculum.
  • Assessing and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
  • Adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of your students.
  • Setting high standards that inspire and motivate your pupils.
  • Demonstrating strong subject knowledge across the KS3/KS4 curriculum.
  • Preparing learners for external tests and assessments.
  • Implementing effective strategies for teaching students with SEND.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
  • Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to their needs.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Good ICT skills to enhance learning experiences.
