- Unqualified: Base salary of £29,112.72 to £30,008.16 (upon successful completion of probation)
- Qualified: Base salary of £30,641.52
(Qualified Support Worker salary is based on the proven completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)
Specific Hours: 08:00am - 20:00pm (12-hour shifts)
Location: Greater London (Covering Area Camden homes in Camden, Haringey & Islington)

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of our young people. Your dedication will not only keep them safe but also foster their growth, learning, and development. You will be a key figure in bridging the gap between Area Camden and the local community, promoting social inclusion and helping young people with emotional and behavioral challenges reach their full potential.
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate with your team to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes positive development.
- Provide emotional and social support, helping young people build meaningful relationships.
- Encourage self-esteem and ensure each young person feels respected and valued.
- Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving independence.
- Maintain accurate records of daily and monthly progress, including child protection and health and safety checks.
- Assess the needs of children and young people, contributing to care plans under the guidance of your manager.
- Work closely with a variety of professionals, including health advisors, social workers, and therapists.
- Assist with daily living needs in line with individual care plans.
- Engage in domestic duties, involving young people in meal planning and preparation for a balanced diet.
- Ability to engage positively with young people.
- Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
- Sensitive and reflective in your approach.
- Strong listening and empathy skills.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the care sector or residential care is preferred.
- Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
- Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.
- Comprehensive induction and mandatory training to enhance your skills.
- Opportunities for progression and development within the organization.
- Weekly rotating rota: 08:00am-20:00pm (1 week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday = 36 hours; 2 week: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday = 48 hours).
- Minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month.
- Waking Night contracts available.
- 236 hours of annual leave (including bank holidays).
- Holiday increase of 12 extra hours for 3 years (capped at 272 hours).
- Pension scheme after a qualifying period.
- Funding for required qualifications.
