About the Role
Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join our vibrant Butlin's Buffets Department in Skegness! Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in running our bustling kitchen and leading a talented team of chefs. This is your chance to shine, especially when stepping up in the Kitchen Manager's absence.

Your passion for delivering exceptional experiences will be key as you monitor and develop action plans focused on continuous improvement. With your strong leadership skills, you’ll support and grow your team through daily briefings, manage stock control, and ensure our food presentation is top-notch.

Financial performance is vital in this role, and you’ll be responsible for delivering food cost budgets through effective menu planning and adhering to cooking standards. You’ll also ensure compliance with food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations, all while embodying the Butlin’s unique way of working.

Join us in leading and developing a team in our main buffet restaurant, serving guests who have booked a half-board dining package. Here, variety truly is the spice of life!

Key Responsibilities

We’re seeking individuals with experience in a similar role, particularly in high-volume environments. Our buffet department can host up to 3,000 guests per service , so being able to thrive in a fast-paced setting is essential. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Support the Kitchen Manager in daily operations and team leadership.
  • Monitor and enhance guest experiences through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage stock control and ensure food presentation meets our high standards.
  • Deliver food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Inspire and develop your team through training and performance plans.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
  • Confidence in leading a team in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • A hard-working, determined attitude with a focus on delivering brand standards.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic spirit, ready to build relationships and enhance guest experiences.

Note: This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days, totaling 40 hours, including evenings and weekends. Please be aware that this position does not come with onsite accommodation.
