We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics operations in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data and physical stock. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, investigating discrepancies, and managing stock levels to optimize efficiency. Your work directly impacts our ability to meet customer demands and maintain operational smoothness. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, ensuring accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to optimize stock.
- Manage and maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS) database.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate receiving, put-away, and shipping processes.
- Oversee the identification and disposition of obsolete or damaged inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of PPE.
- Train and guide other staff on inventory control best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Proficiency with WMS and other inventory software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
