Our Huntsville, Alabama facility is seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and transporting inventory throughout our facility. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our logistics and warehousing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move palletized goods.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers according to established procedures.
- Transport materials and products to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Stack and arrange inventory in a safe and organized manner, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away, replenishment, and cycle counts.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring clear pathways and safe operating zones.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow all logistics and shipping/receiving procedures accurately.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, which may include manual lifting and general labor.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Familiarity with WMS or inventory tracking systems is a plus.
- Must have a good driving record if operating equipment on company property.
