Durham, North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our growing logistics team. This position is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and transported safely and effectively. You will be operating various equipment and performing tasks that keep our warehouse operations running smoothly. A commitment to Safety and teamwork is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts (if certified), pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as stock checks and put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to company standards.
- Follow all handling procedures to prevent damage to goods.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while performing duties.
- Perform tasks that involve regular and heavy Lifting, up to 75 lbs.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform frequent and heavy Lifting.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to Safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a team.
- Reliable and punctual attendance is required.
