Our Washington, D.C. location is seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team. This leadership role is critical for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining a high level of Safety, and fostering a positive work environment. You will play a key role in the effectiveness of our entire logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse workflows and procedures to optimize productivity and minimize costs within the logistics framework.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, Safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring adherence to all Safety guidelines and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Train employees on proper equipment operation, Safety procedures, and job responsibilities.
- Manage and maintain warehouse equipment, scheduling maintenance as needed.
- Address employee concerns and resolve operational issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Motivate the team to achieve performance goals, emphasizing Safety and efficiency.
- Support tasks that may require moderate Lifting, and ensure the team understands safe lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar leadership role within logistics.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Ability to develop and implement operational improvements.
- Experience with training and motivating teams.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of Safety and enforcing the use of PPE.
