We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Orlando, Florida. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a highly organized warehouse environment. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and identifying opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a keen eye for identifying potential issues before they impact operations. Collaboration with other warehouse departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, is essential to ensure seamless inventory flow. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall success of our logistics operations by ensuring product availability and reducing waste. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report any potential shortages or overages.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) to minimize obsolescence.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the training of new team members on inventory control procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring inventory issues.
- Report on key inventory metrics and performance indicators.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with WMS software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
