We are seeking experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of materials throughout our logistics hub. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts safely and effectively to load and unload trucks, move inventory within the warehouse, and assist with put-away and retrieval of stock. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent spatial awareness, and a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. This position requires diligence, precision, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, maintaining logs, and ensuring that all tasks are completed in compliance with company standards. A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including the proper use of PPE, is paramount. Experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse management systems is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Accurately stack and store materials according to warehouse layout.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including put-away and retrieval.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and use appropriate PPE.
- Complete required documentation and logs for equipment usage.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of forklift operation safety protocols.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 lbs, and climbing on/off equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workspace and using PPE correctly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
