We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies to ensure the integrity of our warehouse stock. This role is critical to the efficiency of our supply chain operations. You will work closely with warehouse associates, management, and other departments to resolve inventory-related issues promptly and effectively. A strong understanding of inventory management principles and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this position. You will also be involved in implementing and improving inventory control procedures. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by researching transaction history and conducting physical checks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize obsolescence and spoilage.
- Generate inventory reports, including stock status, aging, and movement.
- Collaborate with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Identify and report damaged or defective goods.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Logistics or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the proper use of PPE is required.
