We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is essential for maintaining the optimal performance and Safety of our warehouse operations and equipment. The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for a range of tasks, including routine maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring that all machinery and systems are functioning correctly. A strong understanding of warehouse equipment and a commitment to upholding Safety standards are crucial. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician to contribute to our growing logistics company.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyors, palletizers).
- Conduct minor repairs on machinery and assist with larger repair tasks.
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with Safety regulations and optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure all Safety procedures are followed during maintenance and repair work.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
- Assist in organizing and managing spare parts inventory.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
- Support the overall logistics operations by ensuring equipment availability.
- Participate in ongoing Safety training programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of various warehouse equipment and their operation.
- Familiarity with Safety standards and protocols in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be detail-oriented and proactive.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
