We are looking for a reliable and organized Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse in Miami, Florida. This role is fundamental to our logistics chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are received accurately, inspected, and processed efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for deliveries, responsible for checking packing slips against received items, identifying any damages or shortages, and accurately recording the intake of merchandise. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting smooth warehouse operations. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be involved in unloading shipments and performing moderate lifting. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are expected to adhere to strict safety protocols and utilize provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). A solid understanding of warehouse procedures and the importance of efficient logistics is beneficial for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damages, defects, or shortages.
- Accurately document all received items in the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming products as required.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues with shipments to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as stocking or order picking.
- Understand and follow standard logistics procedures for inbound freight.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform consistent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
