As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of operations, from receiving goods to preparing them for shipment. Your primary duties will include receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and staging materials. You will operate various equipment, ensuring all items are handled with care and accuracy. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
- Stock materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently based on pick lists or system instructions.
- Stage outgoing shipments for carrier pickup, ensuring all documentation is correct.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all warehouse policies.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following all operating procedures.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Prior experience with pallet jacks and other lifting devices is beneficial.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
- A strong focus on safety is paramount.
