We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and meet our high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying package contents, and maintaining accurate inventory records related to shipments. This position is vital to our supply chain operations and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with the warehouse floor to ensure smooth transitions from receiving to dispatch. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL carriers) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging standards are met.
- Verify that outgoing shipments match customer orders and internal records.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse operations) and external partners.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of required PPE .
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Learn and utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for shipment tracking and data entry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform tasks involving Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all company policies.
